Withdrawal Policy (Reviewed and Updated by July 2011)

Withdrawals (or Termination)

A student, who withdraws from SmartTeam School of Management to transfer to another School, or to return to his or her native country for whatever reasons, shall be deemed to have terminated from the course and withdrawn from our School. Specifically, a withdrawal is defined as:

  • Withdrawing from the SmartTeam School of Management course (completed or partial) and applying for transfer to another course within SmartTeam School of Management.
  • Withdrawing from the SmartTeam School of Management course (completed or partial) and applying to another School in Singapore.
  • Withdrawing from the SmartTeam School of Management course (completed or partial) and returning to his/her native country.

Students who wish to withdraw (or terminate) from the course after commencement shall adhere to the terms and conditions of the refund policy.

Withdrawal Process

• Student fills and submits the Request for Withdrawal/Refund Form to Education Manager.

• Exit interview to be arranged with Education Manager within 1 working day.

  • If the student agree to stay in the course, the form will be marked and filled in Student Profile Folder with no action taken.
  • If the student does not want to stay in the course, Academic Director/Principal has to give the approval.

• Once approval is given, Education Manager to check for unreturned property borrowed and Administrative Manager to check for any outstanding payment &/or refunds.

• Upon confirmation that no property owned and no any outstanding payment, Refund request is reviewed by the Finance Department and a cheque is issued to the student’s name.

• STSOM Refund Policy applies once the request is granted

  • 100% refund of tuition fees if the applicant’s written notice of withdrawal is received more than thirty (30) days before the commencement date
  • 75% refund of tuition fees if the applicant’s written notice of withdrawal is received before but not more than thirty (30) days before the commencement date.
  • 5% refund of tuition fees if the applicant’s written notice of withdrawal is received after but not more than seven (7) days after the commencement date.
  • 3% refund of tuition fees if the applicant’s written notice of withdrawal is received more than seven (7) days but not more than fourteen (14) days after the commencement date.

• Finance Manager will inform Education Manager on percentage of the refund, subsequently proceed to issue cheque.

• Education Manager will inform the student on percentage of the refund within 2 working days from the date of submission of Request of Withdrawal/Refund Form.

• Student is required to sign and acknowledge the refund also to collect cheque after 2 working days and to return their Student Pass.

• If there is no refund to be made of, 0% refund of tuition fees if the applicant’s written notice of withdrawal is received more than fourteen (14) days after the commencement date.

• Education Manager will inform the student and he or she has to come to STSOM to complete the withdrawal process and return their Student Pass.

• Upon returning the Student Pass, within 3 working days ,Administrative Manager will inform and liaise with FPS service provider/insurance company to refund (if applicable).

• Education Manager will inform ICA to cancel the Student Pass and update Student Database so that he can file Request for Withdrawal/Refund Form in the Student Profile Folder, which will be kept & locked in the Administrative cabinet.

General Policies for Withdrawal

In the case of any withdrawal, a counselling session will be held between the student and the School’s staff to understand the reasons for withdrawal and where appropriate to offer alternative courses to the student. The student makes the final decision on whether to remain in the School or to proceed with the withdrawal or transfer.

It takes approximately 7 working days after the notice period to process a withdrawal request.
